BASICS OF FALL PROTECTION
Castor Canada's Basics of Fall Protection program provides workers with the basic information required to work safely in areas where they may be exposed to fall hazards. The Basics of Fall Protection course enables participants to recognize common fall hazards, and to identify and apply basic fall protection controls. All construction employers in Ontario are required to ensure

that every worker who may use a fall protection system is adequately trained in its use and given adequate oral and written instructions by a competent person

that training records are kept, including training dates and participants' names

that training records are available to Ministry of Labour inspectors on request.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to recognize fall hazards and identify and apply fall protection controls. A wallet card will be provided to participants upon successful completion of the course.

This program does not cover site-specific equipment and procedures. Workers will need to receive additional training on specific fall-protection equipment and applications they will encounter on the job.
